Mini Pizzas – Quick and easy lunch box idea for kids
Here is a quick and simple lunch idea that kids will love. Just three ingredients – mini naans, tomato sauce, and shredded mozzarella cheese – these mini pizzas will have the kids excited for lunch and they can be made in almost no time.
The school year is about to start and finding satisfying lunch ideas for kids can be challenging. This recipe is a very no-fuss lunch idea to add to your rotation for the school year!
How to Make Mini Pizzas?
Mornings are usually very busy for us so finding something to pack for lunch that the kids will enjoy and that is fairly simple to make is a keeper in my books!
My kids love these mini pizzas with just tomato pasta sauce and shredded cheese. However, if I have pepperoni slices and basil around, I sometimes will throw them on top as well. I get both the mini naans (Panaji brand) and tomato sauce (Kirkland organic basil tomato sauce) from Costco. In my recipe, I always use just tomato pasta sauce because I always have this around and it is so versatile. But if you prefer a more thicker sauce, than using pizza sauce is certainly an easy swap.
When to Have Mini Pizzas?
We frequently make mini pizzas in the morning and throw them in the boys’ lunch kits during the weekday. But we also often will have them at lunch on the weekends, as a snack, or when we have people over. I have even made them for an office potluck party. They are always popular (especially with the kids) and disappear very quickly!
How to Store Mini Pizzas?
Mini pizzas can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for half a day or in the fridge for up to 3 days.
